API 16C manifold is generally divided into chokemanifold and killing manifold. However, with the demand of different workingconditions, the types of manifold are more and more. Such as vertical mudmanifold which generally used in the mud circulation system on the platform,such as vertical throttling well pipe manifold which is used in drilling andcompletion on the platform. Choke manifold is the necessary equipmentfor controlling well kick and implementing pressure. Inthe BOP closing conditions, by opening and closing the choke valve to controlcasing pressure to maintain certain pressure is slightly higher than theformation pressure to avoid formation fluid into the well. In addition, whenthe well shut down, the choke manifold can be used to relieve the pressure soas to realize the soft shut down. When the pressure in the well increases to acertain limit, it will be released to protect the wellhead. When the pressurerises, the choke valve on the choke manfiod (with manual adjustable type,hydraulic type and fixed type three) will be opened and closed to release thefluid to control casing pressure. When the casing pressure is very high, it canbe directly discharged through the gate valve.
